I am so excited!

I am hosting a contest!

This little blog is very, very close to receiving it's 200th comment!! Let me tell you, I did not expect that to be happening - and certainly not before the end of this month...I thought maybe mid-April. But readership and/or commenting has grown over the last few weeks and the time is now.

The lucky people who leave the 200th, and then the 201st comment, will win some knitting swag!
200th Comment: Oregon Felted Tote pattern and yarn.
201st Comment: Scarf or Sock Kit - pattern, yarn and needles - your choice

And, because I appreciate all the commentors who visit, I will place everyone's name from this month, in a draw for 2 seperate sock yarn or felted bowl projects (winners can choose!) I will even give you a choice of colours.

Here are some of the items you may win:

If you have been reading here for awhile, you know that I refer to myself as a Slow Knitter. Am I? Really? Perhaps I am just a considerate knitter?

This was how we spent much of yesterday - lounging, finishing Season 3 of the Sopranos and trying to get some of my Ravenclaw House Scarf done. I am sure you can imagine how difficult it is to knit with a pup sleeping under your arm! But she was too cozy, not to mention cute, to move. So little progress was made - just a 2nd set of silver stripes.

I did cast with my PS2 dyed sock yarn, you know since there are like 5 days left in the month. :-D
I am going to try Grumperina's Jaywalkers. I know, I am pretty late jumping on that wagon (ummm...2005?) but they look like fun.
I hope to get more done tonight - another cheesy episode of 24 is on and we are going to start Season 4 of Sopranos. (our plan is to catch up before the final season starts April 8th -we're enjoying it - though our language has really taken a dive!)

Good luck everyone! I can't wait to announce some prize winners!!

ETA: 200 and 201 have been written! I will contact the winners shortly. I guess I shouldn't really hold the draw until Sunday morning to be fair to everyone, I did say 'all the commentors this month'. Why must I be so impatient! What do you think?

Ok. All winners will be announced on Sunday, April 1st. -- no mention of Fools --

Darling Details

Still no model shots but we are 2 steps from having a completed FO - just switching the direction of the buttons and a quick press!
I thought it was time to show off some of the embroidery added to Darling.

The Hem

The Collar

The lovely wooden bead-buttons

A closeup of the back of Uniscarf.

I have completed 72 repeats of the pattern but it still seems short. So the endlessly dull, repetitive knitting continues into the night. Again.

And here is a fun little thing I found. This is a pic of my blog's code in a pictograph (or some such)

I could not work out the html codes so here is a pic of the pic!

Feeling Sassy Anyone?

You come across these random online tests all the time. Usually they are fun and more than a little ridiculous.

Check this one out:

Your Stripper Song Is

Closer by Nine Inch Nails

'You let me violate you You let me desecrate you
You let me penetrate you You let me complicate you
Help me, I broke apart my insides Help me, I've got no soul to sell Help me, the only thing that works for me Help me get away from myself... Help me, you tear down my reason... Help me, you make me perfect Help me think I'm somebody else'
My whole existence is flawed You get me closer to God...

When you dance, it's a little scary - and a lot sexy.

What Song Should You Strip To?

During my wild and hedonistic youth Closer was MY SONG! Anytime I hear it, it takes me right back. I cannot sit still when this baby comes on. I did not expect this song to be on the test though.

Here is another fun blog test:

Your Personality Profile

You are elegant, withdrawn, and brilliant.
Your mind is a weapon, able to solve any puzzle.
You are also great at poking holes in arguments and common beliefs.

For you, comfort and calm are very important.
You tend to thrive on your own and shrug off most affection.
You prefer to protect your emotions and stay strong.

The World's Shortest Personality Test

PS I only post them when they feel accurate!

PSS Thanks for all of the compliments for the FO's. I am hoping to have Darling completed and modeled by the end of this weekend.
