Poetry Thursday

I am taking a risk here - part of the whole reason I blog, I guess, since I am a reticent person. This is a poem I wrote some years ago.

Averted

begging yes
and breathing no
words filter back
misshapen
shrinking spiraling dread
fluttering within
a lightless web
wave them away
batting carelessly
they contract :.: flatten
blink once and disappear
