Sweet Mary Janes
I found the best pattern online yesterday. They are the cutest things I have seen since Kai.
Not only are they cute, they fit perfectly and are knitting up in like moments. I think I might have had an hour altogether of uninterrupted time, the rest has happened catch as catch can and the first slipper is nearly done!
I am knitting mine with this fabulous tweedy Ecowool I got at my LYS for $2!! For real. I love the way it is knitting - it is quite soft and the stitches lay so smoothly. I am contemplating finding a sweater pattern and heading back to buy 10 or more balls.
You have got to try this pattern. Your feet will thank you for it.
I cannot believe the power of genetics - I swear that baby has the hands of our Grandfather. He moves them the same way, holds them the same way - is that really possible for a one day old baby?. Uncanny. Kai's Grandpa (my Uncle) and my brother also have my Grandpa's hands. And mannerisms and speech patterns - and his gentle heart actually. It is nice to still be able to see aspects of my Grandpa today in the people that I love.
Our unreasonably muggy and NOT rainy weather continued today - as you may be able to tell from the halo around my head - ha! I am really hoping for a big rain so this can just move past us already. My poor garden. It hasn't seen much sun lately.

The Mary Janes look great! Nice score on the yarn too. Look forward to the finished Janes. The baby is adorable and I do believe that babies can certainly take on traits that early - it is nice for you that you have positive reminders of someone who meant so much to you. He is a good looking baby!
